Did you eat two meals in the evening?

Use "a meal from McDonald's" (if you ate the food somewhere else) or "a meal at McDonald's" (if you ate the food at the restaurant).

Given your answer above, it's not clear what you were trying to say. SoothingDave didn't necessarily think that you had actually eaten any fast food at all but the sentence you wrote was not clear.

Were a McDonald's meal and a KFC meal both eaten yesterday evening?
Was the McDonald's meal eaten during the day and then a KFC meal eaten in the evening?

In BrE, we wouldn't say "a meal from McDonald's/KFC" though. We don't bother mentioning the word "meal" or "food".

We wouldn't say we had "a KFC," but we would say "some KFC."

In BrE, we have taken to referring to certain foods by either the brand name or the international cuisine type, preceded by the indefinite article (usually).

What did you have for dinner last night?
I had a McDonalds.

What did you have for lunch?
We had a KFC.

What did John eat for breakfast?
He grabbed a Burger King on the way to work.

What do you fancy for dinner tonight?
I really want Italian.

What are you doing for dinner on Saturday?
We're going for an Indian/We're going for a curry.

We would also say it without any type of article, like "we had Mexican" or "we had Burger King" as well as "we had some..."

We wouldn't use an "a" unless it was something like "a pizza."
