Default Cover letter

A colleague has contacted us about a cover letter for one of her students.
I thought maybe some could help us in making sure this letter contains no major mistakes, or even point out some possible improvements. Here it is:

"Currently a 5th-year student at xxxxxxx (IT expert in five years) in
Paris France, I am looking for a 6 month internship between March and
August 2006.

My career objective is to work in agriculture software development.
This internship would be a great opportunity for me to discover a
foreign professional environment. My fluency in English, thanks to
past experience in Ireland and the US, and my understanding of
American culture are complementary assets to my quick integration into
your team.

As indicated in my resume, I have already worked for agriculture
software development during another internship thanks to my double
competence in viticulture and computers. I have developed a handless
solution which can measure field surface, quite the same as the
solution you provide. That was a great experience and it reinforces my
desire to explore new technologies and adapt them to agricultural
management.

My dynamism combined with my team work skills and my passion for wine
will make our collaboration to the study and the development of your
products and your productivity easy.

I look forward to hearing from you to discuss my involvement by phone
or by e-mail.
Sincerely,
..."

Thanks for your advice.

Alain

six-month internship
As indicated in my resume- I'd cut this- if it's in the resume it's repeition, so if you want to recycle the info, don't tell me, IMO
quite the same- I'd use 'exactly'
quite the same- wine-making? wine sounds a bit like a consumer.
