Default Interview question...what is the best answer for these questions

Dear all, this question seems a little bit tricky...do you have any idea what is the best answer for these questions...
thank you :)

1. Tell me a time when you went above and beyond what was required of your position.

2. How would you handle the situation if a client called and asked you a question that you did not have an immediate answer to?

Default Re: Interview question...what is the best answer for these questions

These seem to be pretty standard interview questions.

The first requires the interviewee to respond by relating some personal experience in their job where they did something more than they were strictly required to do by their job. For example, perhaps they helped a colleague or customer by doing some extra research even though it was really no part of their job. The interviewer is seeking evidence of the interviewee's willingness to be flexible.

The second is just common sense. The interviewee should respond by telling the interviewer that they would tell the customer that in order to give the them the correct and most up-to-date information possible they would have to check and call the customer back with the information. then they should do this as quickly as possible. With this type of question the interviewer is trying to see if the interviewee can think on their feet.

If you need help with interview questions and answers, or with interview techniques the following site will prove useful.
