this is my personal statement, i need some help for it.i'm applaying for biomedical sciences and biophisyk

There are several diseases that still do not have cure nowadays. The research of these diseases and processes which occur in the living organisms directed me to apply for this specialty. Biology, Physics and Chemistry are at the basis of living organisms and I would like to expand my knowledge in these subjects at university.

In 2003 I passed an exam in Mathematics and Physics and was admitted to the National High School of Mathematics and Science “Acad. L. Chakalov” in the Physics profile. During the five years I have been studying here I have acquired new skills and knowledge as analytical and logical thinking, a spirit for research.

There was a crucial moment in my life that determined my choice of career, and that was my mother’s disease. She fell ill with cancer. I would like to find out about the functioning and structure of the cancer cells so that I could be of help in the discovery of medicine against cancer.
During the summer holidays when I was 9th grade I met Dr. Lida Garcheva, whose work is connected with research in the field of cell medicine. She showed me the structure and operation of stem cells, which increased even more my interest in genetics and the sciences connected with Biology.

I have taken part in mathematical Olympiads and competitions and I have received third prize in “Ivan Salabashev” competition and fourth prize in “Chernorizets Hrabar” competition. These competitions taught me that after hard work and strong will comes success. I am part of the school’s ski and volleyball teams and that taught me to work in team and to be responsible. To me, sports can teach discipline but they are entertainment as well.

I consider your university to be the best in the field of biosciences and I would acquire a lot of knowledge and experience there. I would like, then, to put this knowledge and experience into practice for the development of science in my own country.
