Default need advice on the cover letter

Hi, I would appreciate some help with my cover letter. I want to avoid language mistakes and make it sound more as if it has been written by a native speaker. I'm also afraid some of the sentences may be overloaded. Would be grateful for an advice on how to improve it. Tanks!

Dear Ms XXX

For several years I have known about the AAA Company as of the leading consultancy in strategic communications in Russia and CIS serving both global brands operating in the region and regional market players extending their presence in the world. Given the substantial improvement of Russia’s investment affinity and its economically dynamic environment I assume AAA will continue to grow increasing the number of its clients and projects. Taking interest in your company’s activities I’ve read of BBB Group investment in AAA which surely will contribute to AAA’s consulting-services expansion and I am eager to join your team of professionals. I am particularly interested in a position with the corporate and crisis communication project group.

As a public relations specialist and a former press-secretary and assistant to (Position of the person) I offer the following background and accomplishments:
  • Communication. I have background in liaison with state authorities, experienced internationals and mass media representatives. In February 2008 during the (name of the event) I facilitated the work of over 200 journalists and assisted in the interaction with the CCC press-service.
  • Event-management. As a team member contributed to coordination of over 10 events with the number of participants from 50 to 2,000 people. Took part in organization of international events.
  • Research. Conducted researchin the fields of political and economical affairs while working on reports and speeches on behalf of the (Position of the person).

I have been educated in a truly international environment which combined best practices from the US, Europe and CIS and I am exited to work on a global level serving many of the AAA top-tire clients. I would appreciate an opportunity to meet with you to discuss how my experience will best meet your needs. Therefore, I will call your office on the morning of … to inquire if a meeting can be scheduled at a convenient time. I appreciate your time and look forward to meeting you.

That is good. I suggest that you keep it.

The main problem is the introduction. You need to make shorter sentences. Also, put in the commas that are missing. As for the rest, it could stand some proofreading. All in all, though, it looks pretty good.
