I'd use
Dear Sir or Madam,
or try to get a name

In North America, the standards are:
Dear__________ (name of person)
To Whom It May Concern:
Dear Madam/Sir,
Dear Sir/Madam,

The same as here.
I've seen a number of letters in the last couple of days beginning Dear + Job, which grates.

Sounds very biblical.
I wonder if that's not a plus? :D

By my count there're at least 110 more on their way.

Please call the company, ask questions, Google, get a direct report. 99% of all applications will go to an on-line system, if you send a resume or not. So - get personal.

All wrong - all wet!
The first letter to the Human Resources Management Department gives the first impression of you.
Dear Sir, Dear Madam, or Dear HR Manager will start you off on the wrong foot. Such letters usually wind up in the trash.
If you are too lazy to do minimal research on the net or make a simple phone call, then you are too lazy to work for our company.
Think about it! I am insulted when I receive such a letter. I have a name and and any serious applicant can discover it easily.
I have taught this subject for the last 25 years and there is nothing new in being thorough and personable.
