Question I need some help for an abstract

Hi to everybody.
I should check an abstract but the subject is not so simple and I wouldn’t like to publish something incorrect so please, could you read these few lines and tell me what do you think of them?
THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!

Many figures have been painted in it during the prehistoric and protohistoric period. They are simple but among them it’s possible to recognize some of the themes and images comparable to those shown in far-away and distant places. Starting from here we’ve turned to a new “listening” of the rock art and we’ve given ear to the scenery, the rock voice, the messages that rock art reflects into the space. Rock art places are the scenery for elsewhere, theatres where we are both spectators and actors of the played history.

Many figures have been painted in it (in what?) during the prehistoric and protohistoric period. They are simple, but it’s possible to recognize among them some of the themes and images comparable to those shown in far-away and distant places. (Tautological: far-away = distant). Starting from here (from where?) we’ve turned to a new “listening” of the rock art and we’ve given ear to the scenery, the rock voice, the messages that rock art reflects into the space. Rock art places are the scenery for elsewhere (?'of another time' - 'elsewhere' refers to place), theatres where we are both spectators and actors of the played history played out..
Even though it's an abstract, you must say what you're talking about - especially the name of the place.
