This is an idiom which is more common in American English than UK English.
You're likely to hear it in films when one character feels another is trying to take advantage of him. e.g. if one gangster tries to do a deal behind his boss's back, he might be told, "Don't you ever try pulling shit on me like that again!"

If you are being sneaky with someone (and you are caught) or if you are acting inappropriately with them, they might tell you not to pull that s*** with them. But from what I understand, it is more commonly used without the profanity, such as when a child is acting up in a store, the caregiver might say, "That might work on your mother, but don't you try pulling that with me!" Similar phrases are pulling the wool over one's eyes (to trick in a deceitful way) or pulling one's leg (playing a joke on someone).
