Default sunset/set of the sun

Hello, again. Would this be correct?

We arrived with the set of the blood red sun.

I mean would "set" be equal to "sunset" in such cases?

We arrived (to a hotel, an airport etc.) with the set of the blood red sun (when there was a blood red sunset).

To me, no. But "setting" would work.
