Lightbulb Being unnecessarily overcautious

Hi,

What could be the word/phrase/idiom for being unnecessarily extra cautious. Thinking about negative outcomes for small and minor things.

Thanks

"Don't overthink it" is a fairly popular phrase. If a problem is simple and you do not believe there will be negative outcomes, then you might use this.

Depending on the situation, you may want to phrase it differently. A more polite way to say the same phrase would be "this seems very simple to me, are we overthinking this problem?".

Hope that helps.
