Are these phrases correct?:
-I messed up this recipe.
-Don't make a big deal out of it! (Could we say "don't make a big deal "of it"?)
-This room smells of pizza.
-He can stay months without speaking to anyone.

I would say the top three were all okay.
Your two versions of 'don't make big deal' are okay.
But I would say
He can 'go for months' without saying anything.

Isn't it better to use "say" actually for this purpose? If I used "say" it means "his complete action" during that time, for me.
without say ~ without just one saying
Is the say here the bare infinitive of the verb to say?
