"call it the night"?
Hi there,
Can we say:"Let's call it a night?" like we say:"Let's call it a day"?
I mean, I know the last one means: finish the day/stop working, but what does the first one mean?
Thanks
April

If the activity was/is during the evening/night, it is perfectly OK to say "let's call it a night".

Re: "call it the night"?
In addition to what billmcd said, "call it a night," can also mean to "retire for the evening" (which means to go to bed/sleep).
