Re: How to say this idiom in English
Dongthanh, if you are asking, "what would be an English idiom for a place that gives birth to heroes" this may be something of an answer:
A good home can provide a "good start in life" for children, by providing safety, healthy nutrition, and a place where children are encouraged to gain knowledge, social skills and self-esteem.
It is difficult to "pull yourself up by your own bootstraps." A supportive family and community is of great help.
