Are people familiar with the expression/idiom: 'in the presence of royalty'.
If so I am wondering how frequently it is used? and what are its origins?

This can be used to talk about meeting someone famous (like a well-known musician) or someone who's famous in a certain field (like the top table tennis player in the country if you're into table tennis).
It's not something that people use often, but most people would understand what it means.
