What is the meaning of
"so be it"
In my experience, it's usually used as an expression of reluctant acceptance:
"If he wants to ignore all of my advice and live recklessly, so be it. He can learn from his own mistakes."
I.e., the situation is unfavorable, but the speaker wishes to indicate that he acknowledges the fact from a realistic point of view.
