There are some idioms with the same sense "to ignore":

To give someone the cold shoulder - to show no interest in someone, to ignore someone;
To cut someone dead - to ignore someone totally;
To leave someone out of the picture - to ignore someone;
To give someone the go-by - to come by, to ignore someone.

Are they heard/ used in your "part of the World"?

The two in bold are common in Canada.
Also... to give someone the silent treatment

Not a teacher.


Actually on second thought this may not necessarily mean to ignore. It definitely means not to talk to someone and sometimes ignore as well. Best to see if any others have an opinion on this one.

Make sure to use off, or it can mean something altogether different and cause much embarrassment.*
