Hi,

"To be on the same wavelength" and "To be on the same side of the fence" refer to a good understanding with another person, usually as a result of shared interests and attitudes.

Which of these idioms is the most popular in your country?
Or do you use other phrases with the same sense?

To be on the same wavelength means you understand each other. You don't have to agree, but it means you both understand the situation the same way.

I would not use the fence one.

No, being on the same side of the fence is like being on the same team, or political party, or even agreeing on just one particular issue, it doesn't neccessarily mean you understand each other, like being on the same wavelength does.
