Default As American as apple pie

If you think, speak, and act like an American, we compliment you with "You are as American as apple pie."

I have just read that in the United Kingdom, one might be complimented with "You are as British as roast beef and Yorkshire pudding."

Are there similar expressions about other nationalities?

    THANK YOU

I can't speak to/for/about expressions of other nationalities, but the "apple pie" expression is usually/always about American things and not about people.

I'll go with the 'usually', but not the 'always. Six of the 51 examples of the expression in COCA are about people.

Context is always important; labelling is rarely important.
