does this word (eejet) exist?

Hi everyone,

I'd like to know the meaning of "eejet".I found it in a film ( Irish coffee), and after having looked it up in several dictionaries, I didn't succeed.

It could be some four-letter word by the context it appeared in.

I believe "eejet" is slang for idiot.

Pronunciation
"i" of idiot changes from a lax vowel to a tense vowel, eejet.

"di" of idiot combines to "j": eejet

"o" of idiot fronts to "e": eejet

It is still in common use. Here in Scotland, where a spelling of 'eejit' would be more normal it does indeed mean "idiot", but often with a friendlier overtone.

"Oh, what an eejit!" as opposed to "That man is a complete idiot".

It's also used in Irish English and in London has crossed over a fair bit- I used to hear English speakers in London use it.

'eejet' is a word rarely used in this part of the world (India). But the meaning was nicely explained.
If 'eejet' stands for 'idiot' then can 'eejem' stand for 'idiom'?

Without causing a riot, I'll add that if someone was saying 'idiom' in a broad scottish accent it might sound a bit like 'eejem'.
