I have searched two online versions of 'Whte Fang' and have been unable to find any 'two hoots'.
I was not clear in my previous posting. I am trying to locate the original quote in WHITE FANG. A teacher has directed her students to fill in the ______(blank)
" I would give two hoots for a dog that wouldn't _______.
Not sure if this is the correct quote, and the teacher was uncooperative! Not one of her students has been able to locate the quote, so they do not know the last word of the quote.
What word goes in the _____(blank),
and where is the original quote located in WHITE FANG?
Suggestions?
