It's a slang expression meaning to "malign, to slander" which, in turn, means to make untrue derogatory statements about someone else.

Thanks! Yeah I know that expression, it also exists in my language... I thought in English it would be without 'some' and just 'throw dirt on somebody'. Maybe the 'some' is there for the other meaning of the word-play...
