    It's not a standard phrase that I have heard, nor can I find it. If your flesh crawls, you are frightened and disgusted, so would it make sense to think along those lines?

    it means revulsion, disgust, often just "my skin was crawling" - i guess it comes from the sensation of having insects crawl over your skin.
