full-sized washer/dryers are replacing stacked units
i don't know what is a "full-sized washer/dryers", and what's the meaning of this sentence. it's from one english-english dictionary. thx

washer/dryer= a single machine that does both tasks, so it is presumably replacing two machines stacked on top of each other

In the old days, people used to have a tumble dryer stacked on top of a washing machine. You had to take the wet clothes out of the washing machine and put them in the dryer. These days, one machine can both wash and dry.
