Question "break the jam" vs. "break the ice"
Do they mean totally the same? - "break the jam" and "break the ice"

Not to me:
Break the ice- break social tensions so that people canstart communicating freely
Break the jam- remove an obstacle to allow things to flow
The general idea behind them is similar, but the first has a restricted meaning.
