A flea in your ear...

In the original sense, the term was used to describe the practice of provoking desire in someone else.

The Dutch used this phrase in the sense of being restless or edgy, presumably because one would be understandably twitchy about a flea in the ear canal.
Over time, the term came to be used in reference to planting suspicions or ideas in someone's mind which could not be ignored.

from wisegeek.com

This last (planting suspicions) is the meaning I am familiar with.

hellooooooooooooooooo,

to have a birdbrain
= to have a small brain like the bird; in other words not being intelligent; to be stupid.

e.g.
He could not solve the most simple maths exercises. He has a birdbrain.

here is a comparison between the human and bird brain:

Until the next time
I wish you all the best;
and
bye bye

I'm more used to:
You are a birdbrain.

or

He is a birdbrain.

It's an insult, of course, because a birdbrain is a dummy.

e.g.

Her parents quarrelled a lot, and unfortunately she was always piggy in the middle.
