bust my butt

many thanks

Re: bust my butt
bust one's butt, "to make an extreme, strenuous effort, to exert oneself"
butt from buttocks, "end, human posterior"
bust a variatuion of burst, "break"
Hope that helps.

Re: bust my butt
Hi. I got another question: shoot yourself in the butt. What does it mean?
-
Re: bust my butt
It's a variation on shoot yourself in the foot: if you shoot yourself in the foot, you do something that damages you, i.e., your ambition, career, etc.

Re: bust my butt
on someone's radar (screen), among the things being considered by someone.
EX: The problem of trash disposal is on everyone's radar screen right now. EX: This status puts the city on the radar screens of big corporations.
Usage notes: often used with words like not, off, and under to mean that something is not considered.
EX: The disease is sometimes not even on a doctor's radar screen.
EX: Some of these companies operate under everyone's radar.
