The phrase "stay with the program" is actually an American slang. As mentioned by BobK in the previous posting, "it" is usually used instead of "the program".
Here are some more examples of the usage:
"Get with it (don't be so old-fashioned), Jay. They are the hottest band right now and they have won a slew of major music awards this year from MTV to boot."
"Get with the program (stay focused on/pay close/active attention to what's happening), guys if we want to get everything right for the new project."
