not in the numbers?
hi,
what does "not in the numbers" mean?
-
Re: not in the numbers?
can it mean 'not scientific' ?
-
Re: not in the numbers?
we should see how it's used, but it may mean "it" isn't correct or doesn't seem logical for the subject.

Re: not in the numbers?
It depends upon the context.
It can mean that something doesn't fit the budget. For example, you might ask you boss for a raise, and he'll turn you down, saying "sorry, but sales are down and salary increases just aren't in the numbers this year."

Ouisch has given you one possibility. Another is a literal meaning:
He still gets a crowd, but not in the numbers he used to atract.

And here is an excerpt:
Efthimiou takes out the calculator to prove that if a vampire sucked one person's blood each month -- turning each victim into an equally hungry vampire -- after a couple of years there would be no people left, just vampires. He started his calculations with just one vampire and 537 million humans on January 1, 1600 and shows that the human population would be down to zero by July 1602.
That is why "vampires are not in the numbers".

Re: not in the numbers?
