'your face could be your fortune' says a wise man...we have to discuss this at my english course and i know only a bit what to write about this but i don't think i'm right...can someone first explain to me what it really means in english?
I'm not familiar with this saying, but if "face" is intended to be taken literally, here is one idea you might want to develop:
A person's face can tell much about that person in terms of character, honesty, integrity, etc. The face makes up a large part of our first impression of a person.
yeah..thanks..it's a good start.hope until the day after tomorrow someone will give me a really subjective answer..
For example, actor Leonardo DiCaprio (of Titanic fame) was hit over the head with a beer bottle at a party last year. His first reaction was not "Is my skull fractured? Should I go to the hospital?" It was "Will this leave a scar? If so, can plastic surgery fix it? After all, my face is my fortune!"
Not necessarily that beauty is involved.
Your honesty will shine through if you have an open face, and honesty is a valued commodity as well as beauty.
