The saying is 'still wet behind the ears'

it means that the person who is wet behind the ears is naive, immature, inexperienced etc. I think it refers to a new born baby who would still be wet behind the ears after his first wash.

According to my Word Detective reference, the origin of the phrase "wet behind the ears" refers to baby farm animals. When they are born, they are still soaked with amniotic fluid, and one of the last parts that dries off is the area behind each ear.

I was present at the birth of a calf one year at our state fair. I'm here to confirm that they are very wet (from nose to tail) right after they're born. I would also advise you never to carry your lunch with you to the "Miracle of Life" tent. Yech.
