I am a bit confused on the meaning and usage of "cheers". Some English people told me "cheers" after I gave them information.... is it "thank you" or "bye"?? or maybe "thank you, bye"?
Please correct every single mistake I make.... (I'm Italian). thanks.
It can mean 'thank you', 'goodbye' or what you say when starting to drink something socially. It's a very common way of thanking someone for something small, like you example of information. You wouldn't just say 'cheers' if someone saved your life.
