    My - My - My

Language and culture are so entwined!

There was a very popular TV show in America in the '50 - '60 period called "The Lone Ranger." He wore a black mask and white hat and rode a white horse named "Silver." He had an Indian side-kick named "Tonto" who called him "Kimosabe."

He wore two six-shooters (guns) loaded with silver bullets. As he brought every problem to a close, he left behind one of his "silver" bullets. He had a "silver" bullet simple solution for everything.

At the conclusion of every show we heard the following dialogue:
"Who was that masked man? -
Lone Ranger -Hi Ho Silver and away.
    That was the Lone Ranger."

From this TV show we have several cultural sayings:

He is one of the good guys wearing the white hat (or some derivation).
There is no silver bullet for this problem.
What do you mean "we" kimosabe? (Used to distance yourself)
