Do you have an idiom to the following (Vietnamese sayings)?
1. People live and take "shape" of the environment in which they live: "Live in a globe and you are round; Live in a pipe and you are long".
2. Any kingdom has a ruler and you must respect him/her: "The land has its land-king, the river has its river-god".
3. Everyone has his/her own opinion, everyone is right: "What the nun says is correct, what the priest says is right".
Thanks a lot!
[I also posted this one is "Ask a Teacher" by mistake. Sorry!]
1 Owners look like their dogs
2 Render unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's
(1) I like your versions better!...typical English might be: "one grows in one's own space", "one grows in one's environment", "the face fits the space".
(2) When in Rome, do as the Romans do.
(3) "Each to their own" or "Everyone must do their own thing".

You can take the boy out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the boy. Reference to people coming to the city from the country and showing their country ways.
Hello,
What is English saying for - a horse knows its old way.
Thanks
2. I think "When in Rome, do as the Romans do" is very diffrent from number 2 discribed by Ozlass. That no. 2 can be said that way "Every forest have its own tiger"
3. Sorry my impoliteness but I think it may be:
"Opinions are like assholes. Everybody has one". Is it a popular idiom?
If I make any mistakes, please let me know.
Your suggestion for No. 3 is vulgar and offensive to Americans.
