Default Have your cake and eat it too- explain this please

can you explain have your cake and eat it too, does it mean they want the best of both worlds- can anyone explain this in more depth please and what it's general meaning is please.

Yes, you've got it.

If you have a beautifully decorated cake on your table, it's pretty, but you can't eat it. If you eat it, you no longer have it. You can't have both.

You can't have the best of both worlds is a very good alternative.

You would use 'to' not 'too'.

No, "too" (also) is correct. You can't have your cake and also eat it.
