slang or sth?
Here I am not quit follow the mean of catching the bug. . .
According to the Mobile Data Association (MDA), 2.1 billion text messages were sent in March 2004, a 25% rise on the total from the same month last year.
On average, around 69 million text messages are sent every day in the UK.
Older people are also catching the bug and using text in an increasing variety of ways.
What does bug here refer to?
Thx for you guys' in advance. . .[/u]
If you start doing something, like texting, and become very keen on it, you have 'caught the bug'. ;-)
They also say that about somebody who has caught a cold that he has caught a bug. Of course, that is a different kind of bug.
So I can make my own examples as:
The PC game "Counter-Strike" is a very pop game between young ppl, and many of my school-mates are catching the bug/cold. . .
Is this sentence above Okay?
I'd use 'bug' not cold.;-)
