If you start doing something, like texting, and become very keen on it, you have 'caught the bug'.

They also say that about somebody who has caught a cold that he has caught a bug. Of course, that is a different kind of bug.

So I can make my own examples as:

The PC game "Counter-Strike" is a very pop game between young ppl, and many of my school-mates are catching the bug/cold. . .

Is this sentence above Okay?

I'd use 'bug' not cold.
