what is the meaning of the expression recipe for chaos? e.g. ...."that sounds a recipe for chaos..."
Welcome to the forums!
This phrase sounds like a variation on Recipe for disaster =
So a recipe for chaos is a mixture of people and events that will lead to chaos (complete disorder and confusion)
- A recipe for disaster is a mixture of people and events that could only possibly result in trouble.
Thank you so much!
"I don't want to have the party here at home, your son is only going to bring his recipe for chaos here from school."

Ummm
I think "Are you mad? Going out for the evening and letting your son have all his friends to your home for a party is a recipe for chaos!" expresses it better.
