Welcome to the forums!

This phrase sounds like a variation on Recipe for disaster =
  • A recipe for disaster is a mixture of people and events that could only possibly result in trouble.
So a recipe for chaos is a mixture of people and events that will lead to chaos (complete disorder and confusion)

"I don't want to have the party here at home, your son is only going to bring his recipe for chaos here from school."

Ummm

I think "Are you mad? Going out for the evening and letting your son have all his friends to your home for a party is a recipe for chaos!" expresses it better.

It's more like it but I want to make of my own:

"Martin, Jack and John is a good recipe for chaos. Leaving them alone in the house will surely cause you some headaches."

(hmm, there isn't much spirits in my English I guess)
