Let the cat out of the bag someone said to me...
"let me let the dog out of the bag" what does it mean?

I have never heard "let the dog out of the bag". But I've heard "let the cat out of the bag", and this sentence means, to tell a secret or to show a secret and this secret is not a secret any more!
