difference between Idiom and Idiomatic expression

...really want to know the difference between an idiom and an idimatic expression...

Idiom is spelled with only 5 letters I guess, while idiomatic expression is a whole lot longer.

This is what I know. And based on my dictionary, they're just the same.

Phrasal verbs, for instance, are regarded as idiomatic because the meaning cannot be worked out from the definitions of the individual words, but are rarely called full idioms.

I suppose, an idiomatic expression (a phrasal idiom) resembles or has the nature of an idiom. An idiom - as distinguished from an idiomatic expression - also has the meaning of artistic style, like the style of a particular artist or school or movement (the classical, rococo, baroque style and so on).
