He suggested going to the beach. ??![]()
I'm having problems with the reported speech...
If someone says "Let's go to the beach", how is it reported?
He said that we will go to the beach?
He said that we are going to the beach?
I know I can say "He said Let's go to the beach", but without direct quotations is it possible?
A friend of mine who did CPE said I might say:
"He said that he wanted us to go to the beach"
But there is no verb "want" in the quotation.
Thanks.

I agree with TDOL's answer. I would report that as "suggested".Originally Posted by bluejazzshark
