I heard the following expression in the movie "Fallen"
It was a coversation between two policemen. One of the guys asked the other "Do you take cream?"
For the whole context of the conversation I know they were not talking about ice cream. I believe the meaning was about taking money ilegally. Some kind of corruption.
I would really appreciate if someone clarify this phrase or idiom to me.
Thanks
I haven't seen the movie, but that phrase usually means, "Do you take (use, put) cream in your coffee." If they were drinking coffee in that scene then it's settled.
They were not drinking coffee... they were drinking beers and talking about what they can afford to buy or to have according to their wages...
If you think they are referring to taking bribes, then possibly an abbreviation for "skimming the cream off the top".
Anglika, I do believe that is the meaning...
Thanks
