What does "jumping through hoops" mean?
and what does "in a bubble" mean?
Thanks.
"To jump through hoops" comes from the days when animals [often the large cats] were trained to jump through hoops in the circus ring. The expression is used to describe having to do something difficult or complicated to get what you want.
"in a bubble" = cut off from reality - as if enclosed within a bubble preventing the person or organisation touching reality.
