Default How to explain?

Hi there. I'd like to know how to explain this phrases by English idioms:

1
I didn't surrender in the last period. And I never stopped learning English by myself.

2

Teaching myself is not an easy thing.

3

I want to explain how I'm fallen for her way when she teaches us and how I'm fascinated of her when she makes me understand difficult english words and phrases. How to say that in an English idiom?

You go about learning idioms in English the wrong way. You cannot just express something and assume there is an idiom for it.
