You have not been out much lately?
Fancy free is a bit on the side of foot loose. Going Dutch can be used between couples, or a group. If a couple goes Dutch there is no call it pressure or obligation for the lady to repay by whatever means.

I do not quite follow your logic.
The elder loves to treat everyone because s/he thinks s/he is the most seasoned in a group. If s/he doesn't collect the bill, s/he thinks it's face losing. 8) When I have a nice dinner with my parents, it's impossible for me to pick up the tab. They'll say, "Just save up your money to get marreid!"

I didn't know "going Dutch", so I was just going by your alternate definition "Going Dutch does also mean no ties or obligations.". Hence the seems and according to you.

Why not replace these ugly, politically-correct "s/he" with "they"? ;)

Here, people rush to the counter to pick up the bill.

(On their way to the counter)
Josh: It's on me! :D
Pete: No, it's me! :D
Josh: No no no, my treat today! :)
Pete: No, I insist!
Josh: Please, let me buy you dinner. :(
Pete: No, I'll just pay it!

(At the counter)
Josh: My treat! I mean it!
Pete: Take it back! TODAY'S ON ME!
Josh: NOOOOOOOOOOOO! Waiter, quick! Take my credit card!
Pete: NOOOOOOOOOOOO! Waiter, take mine!
Josh: ................. WAITER! Did you not heart what I'm saying?
Waiter: :(
Pete: Well...next time, my treat!

The bill had finally been collected after 10 minutes. :D
Do you have any similar scenario there?

Ok, next time, you'll see the same scenario again. It's a long long road that you cannot see the end. 8)

End of controversy.

Take me out and you pay. I am older but you can pay for the privilege of being with me and experiencing my wisdom first hand.

Any takers?
