I don't think a cucumber looks cool.
Please tell me how this expression is used.
Possibilities:
a. He looks as cool as a cucumber. ???
b. This bottle of beer is as cool as a cucumber. ???
c. Mr.D is always as cool as a cucumber. ???

'Cool as a cucumber' means very calm and in control of your emotions. When everything seems to be going wrong, she stays as cool as a cucumber.
Examples a. and c. are perfect examples for this idiom.
Example b. is stretching the meaning of the idiom and should probably be changed to: "This bottle of beer is as cool as a winter night in Tokyo."
