If someone knows the definition of the idiom "on the home straight" please let me know... thanx
(On a running track, a 400m runner runs round the first bend and into the 'back straight. Then round another bend and into the 'home straight'.)

Sure it isn't "on the home front"?

In AmE, we say "home stretch" rather than "home straight."
