Hi RonBee,

b.a.d. cited some definitions from the Urban Dictionary. The discussion that followed attempted to shed some light on these definitions.

You were quick to disagree and then agree with my comments. I was under the impression that you checked his citations before posting. I know these words don't quite rhyme, but if one of us was facetious, the other may have been capricious.

I'm glad you "don't disagree with any of it" now.

Going back to being facetious, are you suggesting that Fowler would have overdosed on sleeping pills instead?

All in the service of our beloved language.

The misapprehension that RonBee was referring to was the difference between 'stacks' (a noun) and 'stacked' (an adjective). (I suspected some confusion here, but as it seemed to refer to American slang I thought I'd better stay out of it. I'm glad an American English-speaker has confirmed my suspicion.)

Well, he did post a link to the website.

I am certain they weren't the same ones.

I didn't need to visit the website to offer my opinion on what I saw. (I have visited that website before.)
