Hi! Need your help again! Can I change the order of words in song lyrics like that:
"Deep inside of your imagination
There's an evil spirit lives"
?
Thanks in andvance!
"Deep inside of your imagination
There's an evil spirit that lives"
"Deep inside of your imagination
There's an evil spirit living"
"Deep inside of your imagination
An evil spirit lives"
Oh.. Thanks. Can you, please, explain why there is/there are cannot be used with simple present in such cases?
Thanks a lot! You got it right. I wanted the line to end with "lives"
Dear b.a.d.:
It's not there is/there are that causes the problem.
The line, 'There's an evil spirit lives,' without the contraction is,
'There is an evil spirit lives.'
You can't say, 'is lives,' only 'is living,' or 'that lives.'
Just as you wouldn't say, 'I am posts a question to the forum,' but, 'I am posting a question to the forum.'
If you want to retain 'there,' you could say, 'There an evil spirit lives.'
Best wishes,
Petra
Oh :)) Now I got it! Thank you, Petra! )))
