Default "one-note" song

How can we explain "one-note" song in this sentence:
such monitoring was a "one-note" song about that place?

An oversimplification, a dogma, an orthodoxy. I hoped it was going to be a samba de uma nota so but it wasn't.

A "one-note song" is when someone has a particular philosophy or point of view and refuses to see any other point of view.

As a footnote:

I would say that a "one-note song" is a song where one note is repeated, rather than a song that only consists of a single note (hence the metaphor).
