Default what does "get thrown together" mean?

    Hi there

I was wondering what did "to get thrown together" mean, for example in

Most bands get thrown together using the often fallible principles of supply

It sounds me as if something that get thrown together, it mixes itself with something other randomly. I mean in this case it is not suitable for the example above, but generally the meaning would be that?

    What do you think?

    Ernesto

A possible word would be "scramble"?

    "Everything scrambles"

A band that is thrown together is one whose members are made up without much thought. It is similar to throwing a cake together - it is made of whatever is available. The available part corresponds to the principle of supply - whoever was there and ready became a part of the band.

It simply means that everybody was put in together.

Thank you very much for your suggestions. I think it can also be "are mixed"
